Originally from Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan, Mr. Johnson graduated from the University of Michigan School of Business Administration with Distinction in 1978, and thereafter was an auditor with the Big Eight accounting firm of Ernst & Ernst in Detroit. He was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Michigan in 1980 and in Florida in 1987. He graduated from Wayne State University Law School, was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1984 and The Florida Bar in 1986. Prior to practicing law, he was a Tax Attorney with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co., and a Trust Officer with Northern Trust Bank. In 1992, David received both his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations from The American College. He has been recognized since 1995 as a Board Certified Tax Lawyer and 1996 as a Board Certified Wills, Trusts & Estates Lawyer by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education, which is the highest level of recognition by The Florida Bar of the competence and experience of attorneys in the areas approved for certification by the state Supreme Court.
David resides in Anna Maria with his wife Kathy. His personal interests include photography, ballroom dancing, astronomy, golf, health and fitness, running, cycling and karate.
